April! yay!
okay, and what's with 4 days with no entries? i've been slacking in all areas of my life it seems.. actually the job area's going ok.. maybe i just can't be winning in more than one area..
i have a temporary job at the university bookstore in September, which has the potential to continue for the rest of the year at ~6 hours a week, which is cool. I could use the extra money, especially in September. it's a good thing i dressed nice, because i think that made a difference in the interview. which in itself was weird..
it wasn't so much an interview as an, "i'd like to hire you, and here are the details, do you still want the job" sort of thing.. it's basically as many ours as i want for the first 3 weeks of school.. and a decent sized refund on textbooks.
which leads me to think about school next year and how i have to check the course calendar to see if i can switch to just poli sci and still graduate in the same amount of time.. this multimedia stuff is getting a little ridiculous.. i mean i didn't pay $400 to make some stupid children's game.. the philosophy course last term was cool, but i doubt i'll see one of those again, and i'm really not interested in team work when it comes to designing stuff.. so far it hasn't gone well.. i do much better on my own.. which isn't a good quality in "the industry" so yeah.. i'll keep it as a hobby, everything i'm learning i could do on my own.. so yeah i'll check out the options and post the results at 7.
on an international note, the war makes me sad, and rumsfeld is an idiot. (see here. listen here.) also in response to a question regarding Iraqi VP Ramadan's comment, "I say to the United States administration that it will turn the whole world into people who are willing to die for their nations. If the B-52 can kill 500 people at one time, I'm sure that our operations by freedom fighters will be able to kill 5,000 people." Rumsfeld's response? "Well, he's not volunteering himself, I've noticed. They're mostly sending out the young men and attempting to talk them into doing it."
*cough* i don't believe the secretary of defence has ever seen combat outside of a movie theatre. But seriously, I don't think Ramadan is that far off. The more the coalition bombs the more willing people are going to be to sacrifice themselves to save their families etc. The war is poorly named.. should be Vietnam II.. so many people dying.. and i'm not just talking about iraqi civilians.. us and british soldiers, iraqi soldiers, journalists, it's horrible.. anyway.. this isn't adding to the cause or saying anything original.. so i'll stop..
