ya ya, i know, i suck
9:13 pm - May 29, 2003

wow.. sorry guys, been a while since an update. i've been working tons and when i'm not working i'm usually eating sleeping or spending quality time with Patrick.

Work's been going well. I'm a painting master. Too bad my boss isn't totally up on the estimates yet. I don't think we've completed a job on time yet, which is eternally frustrating.. ok, maybe not eternally.. but at least for now. It's not as bad as it could be since i make at least $8/hour no matter what so there's some safety net sort of thing.

I have a bunch of work to do for the yearbook too, and it has to be completed by the middle of june, which is surprisingly soon, so i think tomorrow night, while Pat's at work I'll see what I can get done. It's a little frustrating creating such large images in photoshop (~100-300 mb) on a computer 500 MHz and 196 mb or RAM.. but i'm managing.

I also completed a great deal of layout work a couple of weeks ago but since than my hard drive (which I had hooked up via usb to this computer) has developed a problem which i have been unable to identify. Actually I know what the problem is, i just don't know what happened or how to fix it.. It seems as though it's just not getting any power.. and I've tried everything, so I think I might just take it to an expert tomorrow to see what can be done. It's fairly new it would be a shame to lose everything on it. blah i have no luck with computers.

in other news.. we got some fish yesterday. two gold fish about 3" long, quite lovely, from walmart of all places.. no where else had goldfish, it was quite strange, but it worked out ok since they were only $3.99 each and the guy at the electronics desk only charged us for one, so that was nice, even if he didn't realize. The cat likes to watch them. she's fuzzy and tried to eat my bear this morning. it's fuzzy too.

i've decided that i want to buy my own copy of a recording of Les Miserables. i've been singing songs from it in my head while i work which is a refreshing change from the Klondike bar jingle.. ugh..

One thing i've noticed while painting is that people often talk about personal things outside, loudly. So far i've encountered an elderly couple who reminded me of Ray's parents from Everybody Loves Raymond; they were quite amusing, and some girl who was visiting her parents and had a new dog. I knew just from hearing her that we wouldn't get along. When you feel like duct taping someone's mouth closed after only hearing them from across the street, you know you have problems. So it's been interesting.

I should probably go now, we picked up some dvds from future shop today for $7.99 each and i think we're going to watch them, but if we start any later than 10 I won't make it, so i'll wrap up this fit of randomness, and hopefully the next entry wont take so long to write.

hugs and kisses to everyone back home, i'll see you guys soon enough, but know i'm having a wonderful time. I hope the same applies to you.
