yet another reason not to go to Black's for your photographic needs
9:04 pm - June 03, 2003

okay so the expert said what I pretty much figured, that my hard drive was/is dead. so I’m in the process of seeing if it's covered by warranty, so I might get a new hard drive out of the whole ordeal.. however the fact that everything was lost sucks large. so I’ve accepted it and started working on rebuilding all the stuff I’d completed for work, and I think I've actually figured out how I did the design, so that's good I suppose.. it's the resizing all the photos that's going to take all the time. ah well.

today I decided that I’m never going to pay to have someone develop my black and white photos for me again. I made the stupid mistake of taking them to Black's of all places where they charged me $22 for a set of 24 shitty prints. This would be understandable had my negatives been crap, but I looked at them and they weren't.

Next time I have access to a dark room I’m going to make a set of prints just to prove to myself that they really did a horrible job. They somehow took a photo that I had under exposed (it was supposed to be dark) and printed it so overexposed that there wasn't a shade of grey that even came close to being black. it was horrible. never again. ever. (unless it's that place in Hamilton.. motophoto I think.. at university plaza.. they did a really nice job on my pictures from quebec city, so if you need your b&w film developed and your in Hamilton go there. they didn't charge me $22 either..)

other than that not much is going on. I bought Breakfast at Tiffany's and Pi on dvd yesterday. So yay. and Patrick and I are thinking about getting a tent. he thinks it'll be for nice little camping trips in campgrounds, but I think I might convince him to go somewhere a little more rugged someday, so we're going to get a good one (at least that's the plan.)

okay time to get back to work. but from what I’ve heard everyone at home seems to be doing well friends and family alike, so keep it up.
